The person behind the box.

About

I'm a PhD student in Toronto with a practice in ikebana rooted in the Sogetsu school. Ikebana Box grew from a simple question: what if more people could experience the quiet focus of arranging flowers at home?

Every box is sourced by hand from Toronto flower markets. Every instruction card is written for the specific stems in that delivery — not a generic guide, but a conversation with the material in front of you.

Wabi-sabi.

Wabi-sabi teaches us to find beauty in the imperfect and impermanent. Every arrangement is unrepeatable. Every stem will fade. That is not a flaw — it is the point.

Mono no aware: the bittersweet awareness of passing things. A flower arrangement is a small practice in that awareness — made, admired, released.
